Spacey Jane
We asked Vic from Bears and tears to tell us a bit about herself and the podcast!
Beers & Tears: a podcast for music lovers by music lovers, including something we all love (beers). Brought to you by Victoria Kozbanis. Beers & Tears is a music podcast aimed at shedding some light on local Australian artists and their creative works and processes through fly-on-the-wall type conversation.
When did you start your podcast
I started Beers & Tears in 2020 with my mate Shen. We met at Uni and lockdowns started happening in Melbourne and so we decided it would be a fun project to keep us occupied during a period where we couldn’t really do much.
Cousin Tony
It was a great opportunity to have some human connections during such a weird time and chat with musicians about their craft. Overtime the podcast evolved and grew into something bigger than a lockdown project, Shen moved on to pursue other opportunities and I continued doing the podcast.
Eventually being able to move the podcast from being strictly zoom calls to having a studio space to chat with artists in person and be able to hold events to showcase local music.
Who has been your favourite person or band to talk to?
My favourite thing about the podcast is being able to meet new people and form beautiful connections with people through our conversations. I have had so many incredible guests on the podcast, some of my favourite chats (most recently) have been with Kim Churchill, Kingswood & Cousin Tony’s Brand New Firebird.

So PopRockers tune in every night at 6PM AWST, and spend some time with Vic and her guests on Beers and Tears.
