Alexis Jordan
The next in our series of one hit wonders, is Alexis Jordan.
Back in 2006 Alexis auditioned for the first season of Americas got talent. She sang I have nothing, a Whitney Houston song. She made it to the next round where she was voted off.
After being voted out Judge Brandy bought her back as a wild card. She didn’t get enough votes and she left the show.
After leaving the show, Alexis started uploading videos to you tube where she start getting great numbers. Alexis youtube channel got her noticed and she was invited to New York to record demo’s for Stargate.
While in the studio, she caught the attention of Jay-Z and signed a record deal.
Alexis only managed one hit. that was Happiness, released in 2010. It was a typical bubble-gum pop, catchy lyrics and tune, and CGI film clip.
The song reached number 1 on the US dance charts, and peaked at number 3 here in Australia.
Jordan had two other hits on the US charts, Both Hitting number 1, but failed to chart as well as Happiness. heart breaker was the only one to come close, reaching number 6 in the UK, but only 40 here in Australia.
Since 2011, Alexis hasn’t done very much. in 2014 she got married and a few years later started a family.
Anyway, she released a couple of catchy tunes.
