Queenie shares new single “Everything Sucks”

Naarm/Melbourne based singer-songwriter Queenie shares her fiery new single “Everything Sucks”. Arriving off the back of her striking 2024 releases “Not Divine” and “Mama”, “Everything Sucks” is a powerfully deep cut about the end of a relationship.
Drawing you in with its spellbound hooks, “Everything Sucks” unfolds into a melancholy anthem of angst and heartache.
Queenie says of the single, “This was written during lockdown after breaking up with my partner of 10 years. I was suddenly without the best friend I’d had since I was 16 and navigating a world that had just locked down amidst a global pandemic. Without the usual avenues to cope with a relationship ending; socializing, drowning my sorrows, distractions.”
“I was left to sit with my feelings day after day in a house I wasn’t allowed to leave. In the most uncertain
time of our lives on a global scale, I was forced to process a rollercoaster of emotions head on. It was one of
the hardest things I’ve had to face but I do believe I’m much better for it. I learned a lot in those 12 months
and it was the start of a long but worthwhile healing process.”
Queenie is the alter-ego of Melbourne musician Eloise Thetford. Taking the industry by storm, Queenie has booking agent Collective Artists, Cheersquad Records & Tapes for label and Wildflower Artist Management in her corner. Garnering attention for her fearless songwriting and electrifying live shows, she has played notable festival slots including Party In The Paddock, Gum Ball, Tamworth Country Music Festival, Port Fairy Folk Festival along with upcoming sets at Queenscliff Music Festival and Town Folk. A force to be reckoned with, Queenie has also supported the likes of Tex Perkins, Jenny Don’t and the Spurs, Daddy Long Legs and more.
Invited along to perform at the APRA Music Awards in 2023, Queenie has a stack of accolades in her belt including her ongoing collaboration with Henry Wagons. With her album New Moult set for release on Friday 30 August and a heap of live shows and festival slots on the horizon, 2024 is looking to be Queenie’s biggest year yet.
