This song turned me into an Irishman. Listening to Jonny Reid’s ode to Portaferry made me fall in love with a place I have never seen or been to, yet. Jonny uses Portaferry to paint a perfect picture of a man yearning for his home town and remembering what it was like, through catchy lyrics and masterful story telling.
I was really lucky to have Jonny Reid send me Portaferry to listen to, and I have been, on repeat.
Jonny has a voice that’s smooth as silk, a look and vibe that’s way beyond what we deserve, he is a star.
Here at PopRock we were first introduced to Jonny way back in 2021, in fact he was one of the first local artists we played on PopRock Radio, the track Another life from his debut album ‘Another Life’ reached number 1 on iTunes Country Australia, and #3 on the all Genres Chart.
Jonny is dropping Portaferry on the 7th July on all streaming services, so make sure you look for it.

The success of Another life saw Jonny headline shows across the UK, Ireland, Switzerland, and in Australia, through out 2022.
Jonny has teamed up with the very in demand producer Michael J .Bono, Think Avril Lavigne and Blink 182. The pairing has created a fresh anthem that’s easy to sing along to. “There’s something that I want hidden off the Irish sea, take me back Portaferry!”
