Hey PopRockers, it was only last November when we went and saw Jebediah at the Rechabite. Here we are 8 Months Later, and Jebediah is on the road again playing two shows here in Perth (plus others around the country too). Last night they hit up Freo Social and we were there.

You can read about our time with Jebediah at the Rechabite here

30 Years

.Next year marks 30 years of Jebediah, and they don’t look like slowing down. Jebediah is enjoying a huge tour for the release of Oiks. Oiks is Jedediah’s 6th Studio album, and the first in Thirteen Years.

As with most bands that tour New Albums, they want to show Case their new music, straight off the bat Was “Motivation from Oiks”, and then a surprise to the Fans, Kev, Chris, Vanessa and Brett Unleashed a barrage of classics. The Crowd erupted and sang along to “Miltary Strong Man from Slightly Odway” and then “Control from Kosciuszko”.

Kev as always was here to rock unleashing “Loaded Gun” from Braxton Hicks, and Animal from “Of Someday Shambles”, Before coming Back to “Oiks, Don’t Stop”. If the sweat from Kev is like a river feeding the Ocean, then the sweat poured energy into the deep mosh pit that was the Freo crowd.

And Just like that Jebs, take us back with a few nostalgic tracks, “Please Leave from Of Someday Shambles”, “Yesterday When I Was Brave, from Jebediah (The Album)”, and followed by roars from the crowd When the second banger from Kosciuszko, “She’s like a Comet”.

Back To Oiks, with “April Slumber” and “IWANNAGETOUT”, that’s not a typo BTW.

Misty Eyed

It was at this point Kev wanted to get a bit as he said “Misty Eyed” where he showed appreciation to the crowd for tuning up and following Jebediah for nearly 30 Years.

Then it was straight into a crowd favourite and singalong “Harpoon, from Slightly Odd Ball”. The crowd singing a long, like a harpoon in my heart… Following up with more classic Jebediah, with “Fall Down” From the album “Jebediah”. Closing Out the set with “Star Machine”.

Before we continue, I need to ask, do you know what an Oik is? Do you know what Rooby Rooby Doo is? If you do, then you could probably work out that an Oik is a Rascal of sorts, just like in the Scooby Doo cartoons. So Now You know you Rascal, or should we say Oik.

After a short break and chants from the Jebediah faithful, The Jebs returned with an amazing encore, with “Rubberman” and one of my Favourite tracks “Gum Up the Bearings” Both from Oiks.

What’s a Jebediah show without “Leaving Home” Which fuelled the crowd for more? Two songs left to go, “Jerks of Attention from Slightly Odway”. Before The final song, which was a B-Side to “Leaving Home” and isn’t listed on an album, “Monument”.

Jebediah Classic Aussie Rockers

To sum up the night, it was packed full of Jebediah fans going back in time to the 90’s me included, But with Kev Up Front Leading the crowd, Brett down back keeping time, and loving what he does, making loads of noise! Meanwhile, Chris on the lead Guitar smashing out riff after riff, a true rock star!  And Vanessa is cool as ice and smooth as silk on Bass, Jebediah always put on a rockin show.

Jebediah are a class rock act that and show no signs of slowing down, it’s a great time for Aussie Music, so head to Jedediah’s Website and grab some Merch!
