Days Of Thunder
Welcome to the first in the series of Hits from the flicks. Episode 1 Days of thunder. Now I don’t speak for everyone, but there’s a special kind of musical. A movie full of chart classics and great songs, I’m not talking about The sounds of music or Grease. I’m talking big engines, loads of action, rumbling bass, and a mintox storyline. Yes, I said it Mintox.
It’s just like Top Gun, but on the ground, and there are different types of missiles. I have to Say Top Gun 2 was awesome, now all we need is a Days of thunder 2, and my life would be complete.
One of the things that make “Days of Thunder” a great movie, is the underlying soundtrack. From the powerful David Coverdale to the heavenly voice of Maria McKee. The Days of Thunder soundtrack has plenty of great songs.
My Favourite track from the film is “The last note of freedom”, by David Coverdale. If you don’t know David, he is best known for Whitesnake, prior to Whitesnake he was the lead singer in Deep Purple from 1973 to 1976.

The second track from the album, Deal for life by John Waite. John has 10 Studio albums to his name. He was the lead singer for the bands The Babys and Bad English.
Half Way – We are dropping the hammer
What’s better than watching Cole Trickle dropping the hammer and going high on turn four? Probably tracks three, four, and five. Break through the barrier, Tina Turner. Hearts in trouble By Chicago. Trail of Broken Hearts by Tina Turner.
Track six from the Days of Thunder album, also from Use Your Illusion 2 – Guns and Roses. A true rock anthem.
Track 7 Sir Elton John jumps in with “You Gotta love someone. Days of Thunder had everything, Cars that went round and round, one way, and a bit of romance for the ladies. This brings us to the melodic Show Me, Heaven, by Maria McKee.
