Just when we thought the Aria Charts couldn’t get any more flooded, enter Adele. Last Week the charts were flooded by Taylor Swift, this week, we see Adele flood the market.
For the week of 29th November, Adele has taken the top spot from Tay Tay (Taylor Swift). Of the 12 new entries into the top 50, Adele has 9 of those, 11 in total. And from Last week Tay Tay only has 3 in the top 50, down from 12 Last Week. The other new entries are from Gayle – ABCDEFU, Imagine Dragons, JID & League of legends – Enemy, Taylor Swift – Enchanted.
Now I haven’t heard all of Adeles tracks, but what happened to release one song, then a few weeks later another? Again the market has been flooded by mediocre tracks. Of the 50 tracks in the top 50, 32 have been on the charts for 4 weeks or more, meaning 18 have made it into the top 50 in the last 3 weeks. BUT of those Eighteen, 9 belong to Adele.
There are a few artists that have multiple songs, such as the Kid Laroi, Two versions of Dreams, The Weeknd, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, Lil NAS, and Doja Cat. Now consider the ARIA charts, which are the Australian Charts. There are only a handful of Australian Artists, and we know there’s great new music being released all the time.
Take this track from Chuck Hombre, for instance, A local Western Australian band.
What do you think of that Chuck Hombre track – Ride Free. Do I hear a little Tom Petty influence/ sound in there? That’s a great track, maybe for the slightly older audience, but it’s a great rock song that can stand on its own. Feel free to share and download the track from your favourite source, or tune in to PopRockRadio.com.au or download our app from your trusted play store.
Here at PopRock, we will be doing and do all we can to promote local artists, as long as covid keeps away we have big things planned, so hopefully, we will have a few Aussies being chart ju7nkies, but that won’t happen until we start supporting local acts, download and share their music.
Another great Local Artist, Rin Rin is making some awesome music, expect huge things from them.
Making music isn’t easy, if it was everyone would be doing it, a lot of hard work goes into making a great song, so join us in supporting local music. It’s easy. just like share and follow, and we will do the rest!
Until next time, you know what to do! Leave comments below.
