LA-based singer-songwriter Emei is coming Down Under for the first time ever this September. Hitting Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, the viral pop star is inviting Australian audiences into her hyper-relatable world.
Set to turn it up with powerhouse tracks like “Scatterbrain” and “Better People To Leave On Road“, crowds across the East Coast can catch Emei in live form at Melbourne’s Corner Hotel on 17 September, Sydney’s Manning Bar on 18 September and The Brightside in Brisbane on 19 September.
Launching her career in 2022 with “Late to the Party”, Emei has quickly made her way to the forefront of alt-pop with a cult following by her side. She transforms her musings on young adult life into angsty, witty and vulnerable tracks that make their way into the hearts, onto the playlists, and out of the mouths of screaming fans at sold-out shows across the globe. The title track of her debut album Scatterbrain has racked up over 36 million Spotify streams, with the streaming platform including the track in their Best Pop Songs of 2023 and selecting Emei as one of their Artists To Watch in 2024.
Emei’s incredible stage presence and journey to viral stardom dates back to age 15 as a Chinese Idol competitor. After receiving third place on the show, she began releasing her own music on Chinese platforms, eventually performing on Dancing with the Stars of China. When Covid hit, she began releasing new music on American platforms, catapulting her to critical acclaim.
Emei has gone on to sell out shows in the US, Canada and Europe, performing to a crowd of 20,000 at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles for the Valorant Championship tournament. Capturing the attention of fans and industry alike, the artist has seen support from Billboard, People Magazine, Lyrical Lemonade and BBC Radio 1.
With new music on the horizon and a busy touring schedule, 2024 looks set to be a breakout year for Emei.
