We recently sat down with 3 of the 4 lads from ColourMind. If you haven’t heard of ColourMind, let us introduce you.
ColourMind are a four-piece punk rock band from Perth, they have a couple of great songs out, and are dropping a brand new track on the 20th of January.
The band – Jonny Essiech, who serves as the band’s guitarist and original founding member, as well as three other talented musicians Jimmy Watson fronting the band and taking over guitar duties, Matt Wenke providing hard-hitting drums and Tristan Chopping with his thunderous bass. All four of them share a passion for Pop Punk and Metal music.
I don’t want to blow up these guys’ trumpets too much but they are pretty good. Their video clip for sweet surrender has been doing awesome things and picking up a few accolades along the way.
The music video, which was filmed by Peter Renzulo from Scudley Films, took home gold at the American Golden Picture International Film Festival and silver at the Tokyo Film Awards for Best Music Video.
The video earned its awards for its visually stunning and emotionally powerful depiction of the band’s music.
ColourMinds’ next track Fight for my life is being dropped on 20th January so make sure you head to youtube, Spotify, Facebook, and TikTok and hunt these guys down.
“Fight For My Life” is a powerful and emotional song that captures feelings of empathy and compassion for those who are struggling with illness.
The lyrics explore the impact of the pandemic on individuals and their loved ones, and the ways in which sickness can turn life upside down.
The song serves as a tribute to those who are fighting for their lives and a reminder of the resilience and strength of the human spirit. The message of the song is one of hope, support, and solidarity in the face of adversity.
We went live on Facebook and YouTube and had a blast chatting about the band, the music, and a few other things. One thing is for sure these guys know how to share the limelight. Even During their interview, Johnny was heaping praise on other WA-based bands.
The band’s debut album, Perfecting Failure, has been a long time in the making.
Jonny first started writing and composing the songs on the album when he was just a young teenager, and the band has been working tirelessly to bring these songs to life in the studio.
The album is currently being recorded by Jay Huxtable at Oracle Sound in Perth and is set to be released sometime in 2023.
So there you go Poprockers now you know who they are, it’s up to you to go like, love, share, follow, and now subscribe!
