Jeeze how time flies, it’s only been a few weeks since Blink-182 dropped the single Edging. Did you know that they’d dropped a new single? I didn’t until my son told me. I nearly died when he told me the title of the song. Just glad he doesn’t know what the meaning is or does he…
If you haven’t heard the track, it’s a typical Blink-182 track, a commercial pop/punk rock song—heaps of Travis Barker Drums, and undeniable Tom Delong and Mark Hoppus playing their parts in the fun-filled track.

In case you’re wondering, “Edging” charted well all around the globe. Not so much in Australia, it peaked at position 50. I won’t go into why I think it charted so poorly, but let me say it’s a poor indictment of the status of the Australian music industry. I will be writing an article and doing a video of my feelings soon enough.
The title of the track “Edging” refers to a sexual act, but the actual lyrics of the song don’t actually reference the actin question. But there is a reference to sex in a church, only something Blink could successfully put into a song. Apart from that, the track is pure fun-loving Blink-182.

To me, this proves that bands, can part ways, come back together and be just as good as when they first start out. We know that the guys have parted and come back a few times. They have endured a number of personal tragedies, but still manage to pull off a great little track. “Edging” won’t get any commercial play in Australia, but you can find it on PopRock Radio, if you haven’t done already download our app from Google and Apple Stores.
