It’s 2022 and all of a sudden, it feels like vinyl records are making a comeback. Every store seems to be pushing turn tables and records. Is this just another Fad or is it that vinyl never really went anywhere, it’s just having a renaissance, a resurgence of it;’s once-dominant self in a year gone by?
Long gone are the days of the old Three in One HiFi Units, 1 turntable, 1 Radio, and 1 Double Tape Deck with EQ have gone by the wayside. Lost to mobile phones and sound bars.
But now you can zip down to JB HiFi and pick up a brand new turntable. No need for an expensive sound system, these jobbies connect straight through Bluetooth. As with everything you get what you pay for. You can get turntables from $99 right up to $1300.
There’s also a whole range of accessories available for your record collection so you can show off your latest purchase or a fashionable storage solution. With all the selections and styles available, vinyl records are definatlt here to stay for a while. Everything old is new again!
Nothing beat the crackling sound of a needle hitting the vinyl right before your favorite tune came flying out the speakers. But then there came that time when you would hit the club and the DJ was a true master of the desks and made that vinyl fly through the roof.
I remember sitting in my room, I had an old record player and a heap of my mother’s old 45s. I would sit in my room, and pretend I was playing the top 40 on the radio. Those were the days, no cares, heaps of awesome memories, and it was the music that connected everything.
Now I walk through the shops and check out all the new releases. There are albums you never thought would be on Vinyl at all. New music, old music, and everything in between.
Sadly they are all albums, and we will never again know the rush, to the record store to buy the latest single. But if you find your strolling through Fremantle, Box Hill, or Parramatta you are bound to stumble across a record store to suit your liking.
We’d like to think vinyl is here to stay and not another fad, there’s nothing better than taking that little round disc, dropping the needle, and drifting away to another place other than here, even if it’s just for a moment.
As always, like, love, share, and follow.
