Our First One Hit Wonder on our list is Samantha Mumba. Released in 2000, from the album of the same name. It peaked at number 3 on the ARIA Charts, number 2 on the Australian Dance and Number 1 on the Australioan Urban Chart.
Another track Released in 2000, Afromans Because I got High was nominated for a grammy for the Best Rap Solo performance. It reached Number one on both the ARIA chart and Australian Urban Chart.
Move your feet was released in 2002, and was nominated for Danish Hit of the year. It reached number 20 on the ARIA Chart and number 2 on the Australian Dance Chart.
Let Her go was a hit for Passenger in 2012 and was nominated for multiple awards. It reached number 1 on the Aria Charts, The lyrics of the song describe the regrets of ending a relationship.
The Way released in 1998, is based on a true story, read about it here. The story is a rather spooky and sad story. Fastballs hit reached number 14 on the ARIA Charts.
Released in the mid ’90s Devils Diary was a true one hit wonder. It peaked at no 61, but that didnt stop the lads from the caufields from touring Australia supporting Died Pretty!
You can read more about Alexis Jordans Hit here. Technically Alexis had two hits, But Alexis rose to fame on the first season of Americas Got Talent at the age of 14. Her song Happiness peaked at number 3 on the Aria charts.
Another track from the mid ’90s, One Headlight won a grammy award for Best Rock Performance by a duo or rock group with Vocal, it also won a grammy for best rock song. It reached number 14 on the ARIA Charts.
Here’s one from the early ’90s, 1992 actually. The duo consisted of Chris Kelly and Chris Smith. Kelly died in 2013 from a drug overdose. Jump Reached number one in Australia, the US, Ireland, New Zealand and Sweden.
From a year where great music was free flowing, 1994. Edwyn Collins a Girl Like You reached number 6 on the Australian Charts. The drummer for the Sex Pistols actually record drums for this track!
