Music we love to hate

I’ll start with a confession, I think James Blunt is a Legend. He served his country, and he is legendary with his quips back at trolls on social media. That’s probably why James Blunt is one of those guys we love to hate, just like his music.

In 2002 he stood guard at the coffin of the Queens mother during her lying in state. He was also part of the funeral procession.

In 1999, Blunt volunteered to join a Blues and Royals squadron deploying with NATO to Kosovo. During Blunt’s Kosovo assignment he had brought along his guitar, strapped to the outside of his tank, and would sometimes perform for locals and troops. It was while on duty there that he wrote the song “No Bravery”.

Bonfire Heart

Back in 2007, JB appeared on Sesame Street singing a song about Triangles in time to You’re Beautiful. He also gave Weird Al Yankovich permission for “You’re Pityful” but Atlantic Records stepped in to prevent the release on Wierd Als album.

How many artists have the confidence to parody their own music…

I’m not sure which version I like the best.

Blunt is an active user of Twitter with over two million followers and a feed notable for self-deprecating humour. In 2020 Constable published a compendium of his tweets as a book: How To Be A Complete and Utter Blunt: Diary of a Reluctant Social Media Sensation.

I think it’s James ability and confidence which targets him as an artist we love to hate, his catchy tunes, his addictive love songs, his prolific Twitter use is always going to attract attention!

You’re Beautiful

James has been nominated and won many awards since 2005. He released his first album in 2004 Titled Back to Bedlam. And has released a total of 6 Albums, that’s a load of music for you to love to hate. You don’t win awards if you have crap music.

To answer the question is James related to Emily, and the answer is yes, they are siblings. They also share Daisy Blount as a sibling, yes that’s the correct spelling.

Love under pressure 2021

Love under pressure is his latest song, watch the video above!

James has a load of music we love to hate, but one thing is for sure he is a legend.
