The wait is over Perth, Supanova is back and we went. To lunch our PopCulture page we thought what a better way than to go to the ultimate in pop culture events. So we jumped on the train and headed to the convention centre to check out Supernova 22.

Pop Culture

We got there early because we knew it was going to be busy, and boy was it, from the start the lineup was huge, but somehow organised and not much of a hassle getting in. We went old school and printed off paper tickets, and from what I could see, We were the only ones that went old school with everyone else having the thought of taking a picture of their ticket with their phone. Note for next time!

Once we were in we were treated with everything Pop Culture from Pop Collectable, Books, Swords, Wigs, Flags, T-Shirts, Statues, Lego, and every other collectable you can think of.

A bit of a shout-out to the guys at Muchima I managed to score myself a Tin Tin T-shirt. If you want some great T-shirts, head to their website muchima.com.au

Everywhere you looked there was something going on, or a new cosplay. Some of the outfits were amazing, in fact, you could say they all were. There were cosplayers of all ages, and demographic.

In Perth, there were 3 Stages, where events were happening all throughout the day, and by the exit, you could score yourself a meet and greet, Selfie, and or signature with one of the many guests.

Guests

The guest list was pretty extensive, with the likes of John Jarret, from Wolf Creek, Michael Biehn, from The Terminator and Aliens, and Most recently in the Mandolorian. James and Oliver Phelps from Harry Potter, Emilie De Ravin from Once Upon a Time, Lost, and Roswell.

Obviously, it’s not all about the actors, but, there are artists, writers and authors, and also the Cosplayers.  There were Comic book Creators, Anime and animation and voice artists. It was an awesome mix of characters and talents.

A big crowd drawer, was the 501st Desert Scorpion Garrison. you could get your picture with one of the many characters from Star Wars. Or one of the many Droids they had on display.

From the Supanova website, there is a list of 58 Exhibitors, that is without the ones in the Alley. there were another 103 places to visit. Everything from Defence recruiting, to careers in the gaming and arts industries. There were heaps of food candies and sweets.

You Just Gotta go

There’s way too much there to put into one simple article, and all we can say is to get the full experience, you just have to go.

No matter if you are a cosplayer, a furry, a parent, a gamer or wanna be an artist or actor, there is something for you.

We cant wait until next year!
