Chris Isaak and his band “Silvertone” has just played to a packed house at Kings Park in Perth. The park was abuzz with activity, and people finding their way to their seats, we were just getting comfortable when two ladies, Bella and Angie sat down beside us.

Angie asked us one question, have you ever seen Chris Isaak perform before?

If you were like us and the answer was no, you would probably be concerned with the smile that came forth, because they don’t tell you what to expect at a Chris Isaak show. Well not straight away at least.

The Master

Chris is a true master of an entertainer, not only is he here to rock us off our feet, he likes to tell a yarn, and the stories are as magnificent as his performance. It was during his first chat he revealed his show contained nudity and adult topics, which loosened the crowd up a bit, and the laughs and songs kept coming.

You wouldn’t believe that a 67-year-old could move around the stage like he and his band did. From the three guitarists rocking in unison, to Elvis like hip swinging and dance moves. There are a few musicians out there who could learn a lot from Chris. If he ever retires from touring he could keep going by teaching other frontmen how it’s done!

Hey, If you haven’t seen Chris before you can get tickets to his shows here.

The Surprise

The bit they don’t tell you about and what the great showman does, that no others could ever pull off like he did, was get off the stage and sing to the crowd in the mosh pit, but he didn’t stop there, he made his way around the crowd singing and playing to the audience like a showman that he is. The crowd loved this.

The “Silvertone Band”

Chris has a masterful band with him, they perform and rock like they are a much younger band, but with four decades of experience. There was Tim on the Piano, Kenney keeping time on drums. Rowland dropped some intense bass lines and Heshel rippin’ riffs up and down the stage.

All of the guys gel well together in perfect synergy, which made the show almost perfect, I say almost, because by adding in the vocals, Chris takes the whole show next level.

The set list

Chris didn’t miss a beat in any of his 23 song sets, hitting the highest of notes, his vocal range should be one of the wonders of the world. And that is why we now know what Angie was smiling at, and next time we will have that same smile on our faces. It’s just an amazing sight and pure pleasure just to be in the same vicinity as Chris Isaak.

Summarizing Chris Issak in Perth

11 outta 10. It was like going back in time and seeing the greats like Roy Orbison and Elvis Presley when Rock was Rock and Roll. A time when the lyrics in a song were sung with meaning, even if they were about unrequited love. Chris hits the highs and lows in the vocals and the lyrics while rocking guitars and putting on a show with style.

The crowd loved the classics like “Oh Pretty Woman”, and “Only The Lonely”, and sang along to “I Can’t Help Falling In Love With You”.

He didn’t forget his biggest hits, “Baby Did”, “Somebodies Crying”, “Blue Hotel” and the super hit “Wicked Game”.

Chris has come here with high energy and loads of fun on the stage it was truly a wonderful night. And yes if you get the chance you must go and see Chris Isaak and the Silvertone Band.

Thank You Chris Isaak.
