Back in 1977 a young group of guys from Sheffield in the UK got together and formed one of the greatest rock bands of our time.
Forget Everything you’ve been told about rock bands, the legends and the myths. Nothing compares to these guys. Def Leppard has been there done that, turned around, and did it again.

Like most people, I got my first taste of Def Leppard when they released Hysteria, that album is hands down one of the best albums of all time, with no less than 7 number 1 hits. Produced by rock legend Robert the Mutt Lange. But Def Leppard had three albums prior to Hysteria, and has followed up with 7 more after Hysteria.

Def Leppard has a movie about them, and I recall owning “Hystoria” on LaserDisc.

Before we go too far, yes Their Drummer has one arm. Rick Allen lost his arm in a car accident in 1984, just after the release of Pyromania, and before Hysteria. Rick had to learn how to play Drums with one hand. To me, that was the never-give-up attitude, that drove Def Leppard to success.

Def Leppard has a tragic theme as well, the band suffered from the same thing other bands suffer with and that’s alcohol, and sadly Steve Clark passed away from alcohol poisoning in 1991. Without a doubt, the pairing of Steve Clark and Phil Cohen was the best thing to happen to rock music ever. It was tragic when it ended, but from then Phil Cohen turned things around and is now one of the fittest guitar players you’ll ever see.

Def Leppard was formed in 1977 by Joe Elliot, Rick Savage, Tony Kenning, and Pete Willis. In 1987 Rick Allen took over the drums from Tony Kenning. in 1982 Pete Willis was fired from the band during the recording of Pyromania, due to his alcohol consumption. This paved the way for Phil Cohen to enter! Steve Clerk Passed in 1991, which saw Vivian Campbell join in 1992. Which is the same lineup today.

in 2018, Def Leppard was inducted into the Rock’n’roll hall of fame, Def Leppard was inducted by Queen guitarist Brian May, who said they were “a magnificent rock group, in the classic tradition of what a rock group really is” and “a bunch of magnificent human beings.
