Let’s go back in time. Before Mindful Eyes.
In our early days, PopRock Radio stumbled onto a band called Antenna Ultra. We loved their sound, we loved their music. Fast forward a wee bit and Antenna Ultra were no more, but like a phoenix from the ashes rose Mindful Eyes.
A couple of EPs later our support for a great WA Band has continued, and when Adam invited us to their show, how could we say no? We couldn’t.
We headed down to Lyrics Underground in Maylands WA, ready for a great night, Three bands, Helena, Moth Street Artists and Mindful Eyes. The first thing that really got me was the staff at the venue, polite, and very helpful.
The next thing that grabbed my attention was the sound in the room, perfect, they had it smack on. Not so loud you can’t hear the music and the the vocalists. Kudos to Lyrics Underground.
I have articles for Mothies and Helena on the way, so let’s jump straight into Mindful Eyes.
From the start, Mindful Eyes is a band that knows who they are. They are performers and storytellers who use music to convey a message, and they do it really well.
Mindful Eyes are Adam up front, Thomas to his left. Jesse on Bass, and Blake on Drums. The foursome rocks well together and look as if they should be on a bigger stage.
They are a band that could demand big egos and rock star attention, yet, they are approachable, friendly and appreciative of their fans.
From the start to the finish, They played an awesome set, including tracks from their earlier EP, and one of my favourite songs Emergencies. And if we go back to Antenna Ultra, they re-did Chemistry.
The tracks on this EP. Chemistry, Faultlines, Constellations, and Helicopter. You can listen to it here on Spotify.
Constellations written about when Thomas went on holidays to Mandurah, south of Perth WA.
If you’re not a fan of these guys, you should ask yourself why not. These guys have discovered the right mix of pop, rock, and storytelling. Hit them up on streaming services, like Spotify and Bandcamp and while Your at Bandcamp, don’t forget to grab some merch!
