Going through our list of One Hit Wonders. We stumbled across this gem, Troy Newman. Troy had one real hit but should have had more. But sadly, like other rockers before him, he met his demise.

Troy, was an Australian singer from Western Australia. In his early days, Troy was in a band with a couple of guys that went on to form Baby Animals. Troy performed as a vocalist and released the Album Gypsy Moon.

Troy Newman Love gets a little bit rough

The album Gypsy Moon peaked at 42 on the Australian charts. Personally, at that time coming out of the ’80s and into the ’90s, music was changing, and there were a lot of great songs and albums to contend with. 42 isn’t bad. The single “Love Gets Rough” Peaked at 22.

Troy released two more singles from the album but failed to get any real success.

From 1991 to 1997 Troy released only two albums before he died in NSW.

Whisper

Much has been said about his death, the cause, illness, drugs, or alleged suicide, in the end, the world lost a vocalist with great potential.

During his time on this rotating rock, Troy managed to build a decent collection of music, he post-humorously released an album in 2018, postcards from LA. Apparently, Troy Newman left a legacy of published and unpublished songs – many of which have never been heard.
